The fantasy game Warhammer 40000 (aka Warhammer 40K) has spawned some excellent tie-in fiction that will appeal to crime fiction fans. Dan Abnett - Ravenor: The Omnibus. Eisenhorn because it's one hell of a book (three actually, with two bridging short stories), with a lot of really great stuff without going as OTT as others, and you get a look at chaos and a small look at spess mehreens as well, so that's three races covered, to a degree. It follows the adventures of Imperial Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his associates over the span of several centuries. I'll start with Gray(or is it Grey) Knights for 40k Warhammer. Of the two, Eisenhorn is far better, it's not fair to say really, since it's really an omnibus packed with the original trilogy of novels, as well as some great, interconnecting short stories in between them, but I liked the overall style of this one more. And yeah, these have already been released, I think in the Eisenhorn Omnibus. It follows an inquisitor through about 300 years. My first foray into the world of Inquisitors was the Eisenhorn omnibus by Dan Abnett, which collects the novels in the titular trilogy plus two interconnecting short stories. The Ravenor trilogy, collected in this Omnibus, takes place in the bleak setting of Warhammer 40,000, where there is only war. Amazon.com: Eisenhorn (A Warhammer 40,000 Omnibus) (9781844161560): Dan Abnett… I really enjoyed this book(3 books in 1 rather, 900ish pages)! Horus Rising was good, The Eisenhorn books do for the 40,000 universe what no one else has to date, and that's expand in ways I never thought possibleand I'm pretty solid on my geek 40k knowledge. What movie are you most looking forward to this year? Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett, a Warhammer 40,000 omnibus and part 1 of the Inquisitor trilogy of trilogies. The Eisenhorn Omnibus is brilliant, one of my all time 40k Favourites, it's a shame that I didn't enjoy Ravenor as much as this. The Desolation of Smaug, hands down. Ravenor Omnibus- Also written by Dan Abnett, the Ravenor series is a great detective story set in the Warhammer:40,000 universe. If EBooks are your bag, then you'll be happy to know that the following two Eisenhorn short stories, 'MISSING IN ACTION' and 'BACKCLOTH FOR A CROWN.
